„Drawing on Water” is Nikolai Tabakov’s first book and consists of 18 short stories. The human relationships that are portrayed in the stories are complex and sometimes conflicting, but at the same time they are juxtaposed with a world which is simple and continuous like a river. The author wrote the book, while he was living in the town of Vidin, where the river Danube passes through. The atmosphere of the river can be felt throughout the book – in the floating style of narration, in the depiction of the powerful inevitability of life and in the constant search for beauty by his characters. The book is available in Bulgarian and in Serbian.
